Jewellery January Bargains
For many shoppers the perfect antidote to a busy festive period is retail therapy in the form of the January sales. The high street, and increasingly the online retailers give those with the hankering the means to buy all manner of bargains from clothes and shoes to household accessories and electronics. Increasingly, jewellery retailers and diamond jewellery designers are taking advantage of the busy post-festive season by offering a variety of bargains to those buyers who just want something shiny to cheer themselves up in the January Blues.
The quest to find the best bargain often depends on whether the purchasers’ individual preference is for online or high street shopping.
High Street Jewellery
It’s no secret that January is one of the busiest months in the high street calendar. Targets are often based on the previous years’ sales and figures are typically recorded as a comparison on either a better or worse January than the previous.
It is expected that to make up for lost sales in December, which have been blamed on everything from online competition to milder weather meaning that Christmas has “snuck up” on many customers, not to mention the ongoing financial uncertainty, that the high street retailers will pull out all of the stops in January 2012 to make the most of the potentially busy high street by having their best deals and surplus stock available for a hungry public.
Whilst much of the actual stock which is available is kept under wraps until trading it is expected that the major retailers such as H. Samuel, Goldsmiths, Beaverbrooks and Ernest Jones will unveil a mixture of classic designer jewellery and modern designs including the very latest in Pandora style designs to appeal to a larger section of the public.
Individual Diamond Jewellery Designers
The independent shops and retailers (for example: Wharton Goldsmith) are often the ones where the more discerning shopper can find a bargain or a one-off item which is not only likely to retain and increase it’s value but where the more designer jewellery and bespoke items are to be found. These stores tend not to offer the same discounts as their larger competitors but many prefer the quality and individuality of their designs not to mention the appeal of being able to support independent traders as opposed to the larger corporations.
Online Designer Jewellery
In a recent interview and supported by UK statistics high street expert Mary Portas warns that by 2014 less than 40% of shopping will be done on the high street and whilst this might not be good news for those who have “real life” retail outlets it is a very exciting time for online retailers, many of whom are keen to replicate the excitement of the January sales in cyberspace.
There are many retailers online who can offer bargain prices on designer jewellery throughout the year not to mention those who support diamond jewellery designers who might feature discounts annually rather than for one month but whilst Overstock.com and Geraldonline.co.uk might boast low prices throughout the year there is no doubt that these and other retailers will be pulling out all the stops at the beginning of and throughout 2012.
