St. Valentine’s Day, the traditional day on which lovers express their love by sending cards, flowers, chocolates and jewellery.
Great day for the ladies then …..!
The day is named after two early Christian martyrs, funnily enough they were both called Valentine!
Valentine’s Day became associated with romantic love in the High Middle Ages, this period in history is the 11th, 12th and 13th centuries.
So that’s quite an old tradition!
Since the 19th century greetings cards have taken the place of hand-written love notes, which un-surprisingly were called ‘Valentines’.
Cupid, god of erotic love and beauty is often used as an icon, as well as all manner of heart-shaped items, preferably in red!
So on the heart theme here are a couple of items (excuse the pun..) from Forzieri.
Antica Murrina’s Hope necklace features a cut colorful handmade Murano glass heart and signature open disc dangling from a wide link chain for a stylish and unique statement piece. Gift box included and of course is Made in Italy.
These oversize drop earrings by Kris showcase striking bronze hearts with an embossed croc-style pattern dangling from stainless steel french hooks for a cheeky chic touch. Signature gift box included and again Made in Italy.
